This is the website for the Scottish Public Inquiry into Hepatitis C/HIV acquired infection from NHS treatment in Scotland with blood and blood products. It was set up by Scottish Ministers under the Inquiries Act 2005. It was announced by Nicola Sturgeon MSP, the Cabinet Secretary for Health and Wellbeing on 23 April 2008. The Rt Hon Lord Penrose is the Chairman of the Inquiry.

Make a statement
Lord Penrose has called for patients who contracted Hepatitis C and/or HIV through receiving blood and/or blood products administered by the NHS in Scotland, or their relatives, to contact the Inquiry to provide statements. This includes bereaved relatives, who wish to make a statement.

Guidance for witnesses providing a statement
Some additional information is now available for anyone who is interested in providing a witness statement or has agreed to make a statement to the Inquiry. If you, or someone in your family, has contracted HIV or Hepatitis C from blood or blood products administered by the NHS in Scotland, you may wish to make a statement.
